What sticks to that foam pipe insulation, the dark gray squishy stuff? I tried RTV but that doesn't work. I'm trying to use it as a protective edging on some 1/4" plywood. If all else fails I'll drill holes in the plywood and use zipties but that'd look 'tacky', heh.

That kind of foam can be hard to glue, it wants to spring away from the plywood onto a curve. Maybe serious clamping would help? -

Wed, July 2, 2008 - 12:23 PMI have to agree that cleverly placed zip ties with the zipper part tucked under is probably your best best to make sure it stays on but you might try spray foam. It is not super strong but I have used it to glue styrofoam together before and it worked pretty well. When it expands, it will soak into the wood and the pores of the foam rubber edging and that might accomplish what you are looking for.

Thu, July 3, 2008 - 6:55 PMContact cement or 3M 77 spray adhesive or weatherstriping adhesive will work well...
For a really nice effect, run some 1/2" PVC past a 1/4" router bit or a milling machine cutter, and slide that over the
plywood. Fasten in place w/ construction adhesive... Now glue the insulation to that... presto - nice round edges.
