Anybody have advice / experience on spots to store big stuff after the burn? I'm speaking specifically of our artcar SnowJob. It's about 6'w x 15'l x 7'h, so it could conceivably fit in a standard 10'x20' storage bin. But it would be just as happy sitting in the middle of a big field under a tarp, which seems like it would be cheaper. It'll be coming via trailer from San Diego - but it doesn't matter where in BFE we stash it. It just can't sit on the street in conservative La Jolla.
any thoughts appreciated.

Re: post-burn car storage?
Mon, July 16, 2007 - 8:12 AMYou might try "Self-Stor" in Fallon, they charged us $30 a month for a fairly secure/fenced lot for our 8' x 26' rv conversion...
As far as parking it in a field, remember "La Contessa" !!!

Tue, July 17, 2007 - 12:32 PMyeah, remember la contessa. . . . Storage around BRC is getting to be harder and harder. I hear that there will be another big purge after the event at the Burning Man Ranch.

Tue, August 7, 2007 - 6:09 PMIt can look like an art car, or it can also look like a big blue tarp!

Re: post-burn car storage?
Tue, February 5, 2008 - 5:04 PMI was about to post this same question but I figured I would revive this one instead - I may be looking for storage of a full size van starting after this year's burn. Anyone have good or bad experiences to share?
$30 would be wonderful, but I'd prefer something closer to Reno. -

Re: post-burn car storage?
Wed, February 13, 2008 - 9:16 AMWell I've got a meadow but be warned: if you part a car in a meadow you'll be stuck there until late Spring when soil is firm enough to drive back out, otherwise it'll sink and then you're in a real pickle. Been there, done that.. ;-) Aside from that little hitch just find a nearby 'gentleman farmer' and have at it.
